This short Alleluia was written for the Easter Vigil Service at St Anne's Cathedral Belfast in 2004.
I Have Chosen You is a short introit suitable for Ordination or other such occasion. The anthem is in four parts, save the last bar or measure, with rich harmonies and comforting melody. The words are taken from the Gospel of John, chapter 15, verses 16-17.
Composed for the St George’s Singers in Belfast, Northern Ireland, with a brand new melody!
Love Came Down At Christmas (flute) is a setting of the traditional 'Irish' melody for solo flute. It is number three from a set of four Christmas arrangements composed for the choir MELISMA titled A Celtic Christmas. The solo is recorded by flautist Jenny Heaney on Philip's CD A Christmas Blessing, available HERE.
My Solemn Vow is a setting of the wedding vows: "I take you to be my wife, to have and to hold from this day forward ...", written for Soprano and Tenor duet (the Bride and Groom) and optional choir. Accompaniment is piano, but would also suit the organ. A special piece for a very special day.
This setting of the BCP 2004 Common Worship Eucharist service is a popular choice for choirs and congregations with more modest resources. However, the quality of writing is maintained with a unison voice congregational part, optional four-part choir harmony and organ or piano accompaniment. Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus, Benedictus, and Agnus Dei are included with Final Amen, Gospel Responses and Eucharist Acclamations. An optional treble instrumental part is included for the Gloria, which would sound glorious on the trumpet!
